Caffeinated Connection Networking
A native of Iran, Nahid came to the US before the Islamic Revolution to attend Lehigh University. After obtaining a B.A. and M.B.A. she began a successful career in Information Technology. She began writing technical articles and became a frequent conference speaker. Her first non-fiction book, A to Z of EDI, was a best-seller and she followed that with 3 more books. She’s written hundreds of articles, with 8 featured as cover articles. She has served as a columnist for two magazines and is an award-winning author and speaker. In her debut novel The Ruby Tear Catcher, Nahid paints a poignant picture of the struggles in the Middle East, driven by religious fervor and political change.
Nahid is married with two children. Her husband, who lived for twenty years in a Christian community, provided much of the context for Christian fundamentalism in The Ruby Tear Catcher.
Nahid is fluent in English, Farsi, and French and has traveled to Iran with her family on many occasions, where she’s experienced and observed first-hand the turmoil and transition she writes about. She is a frequent speaker at universities, schools and clubs on the topic of religious fundamentalism, with particular emphasis on its impact on women.
